Visayas RCG Meeting Gathers New Partners

Posted on April 17, 2018

The FPE successfully conducted the meeting and workshop of the Regional Consultative Groups (RCG) for Visayas on April 12, 2018 at the Big Hotel, Mandaue City, Cebu.

Held every two years, the RCG is one of the major mechanisms of FPE to obtain feedback from its constituents from the civil society at-large.

The RCG meetings also serve as a venue for non-government organizations (NGOs), people’s organizations (POs), indigenous people’s organizations (IPOs), the academe, and other stakeholders from various regions to share information on the current state of biodiversity at the global, national, regional, and local levels.  It is during these RCG meetings where knowledge, information, and best practices are exchanged providing an venue for FPE and the wider civil society to examine strategic issues, concerns, and, more importantly, identify opportunities to collaborate on certain thematic areas.

As part of FPE’s overall governance, the RCG meeting and workshop also serves as the venue where the Foundation’s partners nominate a new set of leaders for the Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) and identify the new Board of Trustees (BOT).

The guiding principle for the 2018 RCGs is to ensure a wide reach of NGOs and IPOs consulted within cost-effective means.

Successive RCG meetings for Luzon and Mindanao are in the pipeline this April.

Congratulations, FPE Visayas and its Regional Consultative Group (RCG)!
