Sarihay Media Awards Finalists Selected; Winners to be Announced by April 2015
Posted on March 16, 2015The Foundation for the Philippine Environment is pleased to announce the finalists for the first ever Sarihay Media Awards. The following entries for their respective award categories were pre-screened and selected by a technical working committee comprised of representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Biodiversity Management Bureau (DENR-BMB), DENR-Public Affairs Office (DENR-PAO), Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation, Inc. (PTFCF), Tanggol Kalikasan Inc., Miriam College Environmental Studies Institute (Miriam-ESI), and FPE.

These entries are currently being reviewed by the official competition board of judges comprising of Dr. Theresa Mundita S. Lim (DENR-BMB), Ms. Maria Sabrina Cruz (DENR-PAO), Dr. Donna Paz T. Reyes (Miriam-ESI), Atty. Jose Andres Canivel (PTFCF), Atty. Ma. Generosa T. Mislang (Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc.), Ms. Yolanda Crisanto (Globe Telecom), Mr. Joel Palma (World Wildlife Fund for Nature-Philippines), Dr. Severino R. Sarmenta (Ateneo de Manila University), Atty. Rose Liza E. Osorio and Mr. Godofredo T. Villapando, Jr. (FPE).
The entries are being evaluated based on their relevance and applicability to FPE's environmental agenda, substance and factual accuracy of the content, the style and manner of presentation used, and their overall reach and perceived impact to their respective target audiences.
The announcement of winners is on April 24, 2015 during the awarding ceremony. Winning entries will be awarded an exposure trip to one of FPE's conservation project sites, along with a trophy and a cash prize.
