Project Goals and Objectives

This study is proposed to assess possible areas in water services where sustainable financing mechanisms can be tested for the benefit of communities protecting the watersheds. Specifically, the study shall determine the feasibility of using payment for watershed services as a sustainable financial mechanism; test such feasibility measure in several cases of watersheds where specific ecosystem services have been identified, and d etermine what external policy conditions could protect the scheme to make it sustainable.
