Project Goals and Objectives

Bring together mining-affected communities and other communities affected by severe environmental degradation and climate change in a unified voice to raise public awareness on their struggles against mining and development aggression, to serve as a platform to raise national consciousness on mining issues and bring the issue to the attention of the Executive and Legislative branch of the government and create a more favorable environmental support the current drift of DENR against destructive and irresponsible mining.

Outputs and Outcomes

All 250 members of PROMISI and HERO and other stakeholders, government and non-government agencies participated in the event/ activity; Increased morale, skills and knowledge of the community affected on the negative impacts of mining, biodiversity and ecosystem; Define presence and improve data collated and documented on mining issues; Commitment and support of the organization to the campaign messages; At least 20 members of PROMISI and HERO participated in the World Environment Day celebration and SALUBONG program in NCR on June 5, 2017; Increased support of the affected communities and other stakeholders on the Proclamation or Legislation
