Project Goals and Objectives

On  July  9,  2015,  FPE,  the National Comission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and  the Bukidnon Higaonon Tribal Association (BUHITA-  conducted  a  legal  workshop  resulting  to  the  formulation  of  legal   arguments  on  the  opposition  filed  by  the  National  Power  Corporation  (NPC)  and  Meralco  on  the   petitioners’  proposal  for  rule-making  on  UC-EC (Universal Charge-Environmental Charge)  filed  before  the  Energy  Regulatory  Commission (ERC).  This  legal   argument  was  refined  through  a  Round  Table  Discussion  (RTD)  on  August  26,  2015  held  at  the  Fersal   Hotel,  Malakas  St.  in Quezon  City.  The RTD aimed to level-off on the rationale of the proposed amendments to the ERC Resolution No. 18 Series of 2011 or the “ Resolution Adopting the Rules and Procedures Governing the Utilization and Disbursement of the UC-EC ”, and gather updates on its current status.
