Project Goals and Objectives

Sustain the protection of the Southern Cauayan Watershed and Forest Reserve by increasing community participation and establishment of social fencing through conservation trade-off

Outputs and Outcomes

Identified 15 Bantay Lasang as beneficiaries of the additional 15 solar home system to complete the social fence surrounding forest patches 3-9 (see map); Signed Memorandum of Agreement among and between 15 Bantay Lasang beneficiaries, CAFA, ECO-AGRI, and FPE; Trained 15 Bantay Lasang beneficiaries on basic solar home system care and maintenance; Installed and awarded 15 functional solar home system; Propogated and grown at least 20,000 seedlings of at least 25 species wildlife food plants; Conducted regular forest patrol; Purchased accident insurance coverage for Bantay Lasang; Provided basic logistic support for Bantay Lasang 5-10 additional members availed of the benefits of the lemon grass distilling enterprise; Conducted regular project management team meeting; Regular field monitoring; Project report submitted
