Project Goals and Objectives

Specific Project Objectives

Generate and consolidate data pertinent to the assessment of coastal, marine and land resource of Sicogon and Gigantes Islands, in the Municipality of Carles, Iloilo;

Facilitate and come up a conservation framework and comprehensive strategic development plan that are integral of community priorities and development agenda;

Increase the awareness and social accountability of the community in protecting and promoting their environmental resources through active participation in the resource assessment and conservation planning.

Outputs and Outcomes

The following outputs would be delivered:

1. Assessment data on natural ecosystems (from ridge-to-reef) are established;

2. Assessment data on population, health and socio-economic conditions of all barangays generated and prepared;

3. Multi-stakeholders (LGUs, Academe, NGOs/POs, community and Business Sectors) participation in bio-diversity conservation framework and strategic plan are generated; and

4. Increased awareness and appreciation of bio-diversity preservation / conservation is facilitated
